    Group: Witcher Contracts

    Location: Velen

You can start this quest by reading the "Contract: Jenny o' the Woods" notice posted on the Midcopse Notice Board.

While in the area around the village of Midcopse, Geralt decided to look around and see if there wasn't anyone in need of a witcher. It just so happened there was - on the local notice board hung an offer of a bounty for ridding the area of a monster called Jenny o' the Woods. Geralt decided this was something he should look into.

    Letter found in a grave

... even though I told him I don't want to know him. I know you're not afraid of Bokhai, but I am. He says he loves me, but it's not the kind of love I have with you. It's a fierce, frightening kind.

Bokhai won't leave us alone, ever. We have to run.

Leave your reply in the usual spot.

    Your Zula.

When you do that, you will come to the conclusion that the wraith is actually a woman called Zula, who was murdered by a rejected lover.

Geralt discovered that the monster the locals called Jenny o' the Woods was in fact a common nightwraith. This unfortunate being had been born of a woman murdered by her rejected lover. The story of their star-crossed fate moved me to pen a tear-jerking ballad... but the witcher was mainly moved to find a way to bait and destroy the wraith.

    6. Ask the ealdorman about the lovers.

Go back to the ealdorman and ask him about Zula. He will tell you where she was meeting her beloved.

Ask the ealdorman about the lovers.

    7. Find the lovers' meeting spot. / Burn Zula's letter and the dried blood from the knife.

Go to the place pointed out by the ealdorman. Wait until dusk (9pm+) and interact with the fire there. Jenny o'the Woods will appear.

Find the lovers' meeting spot. / Burn Zula's letter and the dried blood from the knife.

    8. Kill the monster. / Take a trophy from the monster.

You have to use Yrden sign to be able to hit Jenny. She will occasionally disappear and three regular nightwraiths will appear. Take them out quickly as Jenny heals herself during this time.

Kill the monster. / Take a trophy from the monster.

Once you kill Jenny, loot the remains for the Nightwraith trophy (5% Bonus experience from humans and nonhumans) and Forgotten Vran Sword (Relic steel sword).

    9. Collect your reward.

Go back to the ealdorman for your prize, which will be 240XP and so many crowns, as you have managed to bargain with him earlier.

Geralt drove off the nightwraith that the unfortunate Zula had become. I derive some small pleasure in knowing that a person to whom life had been so cruel found at least this measure of relief after death...
