The 24-year-old AMA flats track racer motorcycle Ryan Varnes died away while competing in a race at Weedsport Speedway tack, know about his accident and obituary

His on-track incident occurred during the main event at Weedsport Speedway track on Saturday evening. The medical team immediately rushed to the spot and decided to transfer Varnes to Upstate hospital in Syracuse, where later he died due to his injuries.

Ryan Varnes was just Five years old when he started to show interest in the sport. At the age of 16, he had already become a professional in the sport.

The passion for flat track racing has existed in Ryan’s family for generations. His father, Kevin and his grandfather Jim both were also professionals in the racing sport.

Ryan Varnes’s father Kevin who was present at the track during his son’s accident said it was the first serious accident in his son’s career that led him to the hospital. Otherwise, his son would never stay in a hospital bed even just for a night. He also said that no one is to be criticized for the cause. It is like the nature of this sport, and sometimes those happening can occur.

Racers at Weedsport can go fast as 80mph, but Ryan went at a whopping rate of speed of 135mph. Ryan lost his control over the bike while turning and went down, due to the speed the velocity dragged him towards the wall, Kevin said.

Ryan’s family lives have been spent in and around the race track. Ryan’s parents also met on the track when his mother Colleen Varnes used to come to the track to support her brother where she met Ryan’s father Kevin. “Ryan was always optimistic and his kind humour will be missed, he will always stay in our hearts’’, said Gene Crouch, COO of AMA Pro Racing.

Ryan Varnes completed his graduation in 2021 from Penn State University, Pennsylvania with an accounting degree. When he was out of track he used to work at a local accounting firm. During his last race, he was wearing the number 68 shirt which was also worn by his grandfather during his old racing days.
