KRANKk Teams Up with Ragga Twins on New Single THINK

Publish date: 2024-08-08

Step into the pulsating realm of jungle drum and bass with KRANKk’s new single “THINK” – a magnetic collaboration with the iconic Ragga Twins.

Talking about how the collaboration occurred, drummer Thomas Geysen shares: “When our studio session fell through, we took a leap and snagged last-minute tickets to WAH in the City Festival. Racing against time to catch the train, little did we know that this spontaneous decision would lead us to witness Ragga Twins’ performance alongside Nicky Blackmarket.”

Keyboardist Aram Abgaryan adds: “We hurried to the festival, and caught Ragga Twins rocking the stage. Their energy was infectious, so we reached out and they agreed to spend the day after with us in the studio. That encounter birthed ‘Think,’ altering our musical path in ways we couldn’t have predicted.”

Ragga Twins have carved an enduring legacy across decades, leaving an indelible mark on music. From groundbreaking work with Skrillex to timeless tracks like “Bad Man”, and “Spliffhead” the duos influence electrifies every rhythm they touch.

“THINK” isn’t just a track; it’s an anthem igniting consciousness and condemning the scourge of war. Weave through the beats of jungle drum and bass, and liquid influences, as the song urges a critical message: consider your actions before they return to bite. The lyrics delve deep into societal corruption, prompting introspection on our impact on the world.

Heavily inspired by the DnB genre, the track takes on the familiar characteristics of the best drum and bass fused with hints of reggae – the fast breakbeats, menacing bass lines, fearsome synths, and delicious rapping-lite vocals.

KRANKk are musician and producer Aram Abgaryan (keys), Thomas Geysen (drums), and Willem Heylen (guitar, electronics).

Their singles “Crazy”, “Don’t Forget”, and “Aftermath” all made it to Ultratop in the Flemish Ultratop charts. They created a groundbreaking immersive audio performance at Pukkelpop in both 2022 and 2023. The Booth stage was transformed into a 360° platform to immerse everyone present in their sound.

Now that 2023 is gone, KRANKk is readying the release of their second album Late Nights In Antwerp with features from artists such as Selah Sue, Yann Gaudeuille, A-F-R-O, Splurgeboys, Logan_olm, and Ragga Twins. The album is scheduled for the spring of 2024.
